Give It Away....

Hello~

Since my move I've been feeling a bit out of sorts: summer is officially here so I am working more nights at the restaurant, my house is certainly crazy and everything is being moved around every day, and we have a new doggy that is keeping me busy and rocking any shred of a routine that I may have left.

(Follow my re-arranging & settling in progress here)

So, to help me get my creative mojo back, I've decided to bring back some of my all time favorite colorways in both yarn and roving. This way I have a big project to focus on that will help me get those creative juices flowing again- no matter what kind of chaos is happening in my life! So far, it's working.

In honor of this fun and inspiring project- I'd like to give something back, or away as the case may be!

The winner of this OTR Giveaway can choose between 5 oz of hand painted merino wool roving OR 160 yards of handspun merino wool yarn!

  1. Ooh, gorgeous!

This summer I am going to enjoy every minute of "free" time I get - I'm starting nursing school in the fall, so I imagine I won't have any time to myself then!! I'm going to finally finish "War and Peace" and knit until my fingers cramp up!! Oh, and hang out with my kids and perhaps cram in a camping trip too...

  3. I'm going to knit down loads of my stash and sew a skirt and a top and some household things and quilt and do some cross stitch and crochet some things from Summer Crochet and read more and go on holiday and bake lemon drizzle cake and cupcakes and... and... and...

    How long is summer again?

  4. Yay! Let's see, plans for summer include finishing this endless move, getting settled in and comfortable (which by the sound of things at your house, may take a while...oy...) getting organized again and creating the new products I've been planning, prepping for Fall and all the seasonal products, and making CP soaps again! Oh, and spinning lots of wool into yarn. :)

  6. Thanks for the awesome giveaway! My summer plans are to RELAX! I'm going back to school in the fall to pursue a nursing degree, so I need to relax while I can. I will also do lots of crocheting, so this yarn would be great!

  7. Love me some Chili Peppers :) We'll be at the beach a lot this summer which usually means car/small project knitting. I'm launching a line of readymade monkeys this month so I plan to make tons of them over the next few months (and cross my fingers that they sell).

Best of luck with the new puppy :)

  8. I only wish my summer plans included something exciting! Alas, it's filled with the daily grind. I do hope to get to the coast at least once this summer, though... Portland and Casco Bay seem to be the only coastlines I get to see anymore.

  9. I'm getting a start on my Christmas knitting and will be making a wrap for my husband's sister. I'm also going to knit a pair of socks, commissioned by my boss, that have the BMW logo on it. Haven't figured out the logistics with shaping but it will be an interesting challenge!

  10. WELL, besides working part time at a fast food spot, I plan to spend my days off at the beach on those really sunny day, (maybe a few cabin visits) sipping on some rum and juice, but on those wet cloudy, lazy, days (which seems to be alot this summer) I have plans to knit a log blanket for a friend, a shrug (never done before!) for another, and a hat for her boyfriend, and i have yet to settle on what i want!!
though i just found out you can spin with out those crazy spinning wheels that i saw on disney sleeping bueaty, i now want to try and spin myself!

I've been quilting lately so I think I'd like to do more of that and maybe try ti get out of the knitting funk

  13. Summer is my down time from the busy-ness of homeschooling 3 kids. So, it's time to get my craft on! I'm designing and making new dresses, doing my winter knitting, making new lesson plans, and sitting by the pool.

  15. I'm slowing down from homeschooling our five, and heading to New Orleans in July to chaperone our high school youth to a national youth gathering, during which they will be doing service projects in NOLA. After that, the family is driving from Richmond, VA to Wisconsin to visit my folks on their beautiful farm... and during all my travels, I will have my knitting with me, so I can keep on keepin' on doing what I LOVE!!!

  16. I've just moved back to the city from having lived in the mountains for the last four years. To keep sane I am working at a living pioneer museum. It's a wonderful place, a hideaway from the city. Creatively I am putting the knitting needles to rest for a bit and taking up weaving and plan to try out spinning in the next bit. I really enjoy following your blog and your work is beautiful!

  18. Here in the desert, the summer is generally a time to huddle in the air conditioned buildings as we fight against 120+ temps. That generally results in studio photography and knitting which is a great way to spend the summer. I also adore the summer storms the crop up and run off with the hubbie to do some storm photography every chance we get.

I can't wait to be done with my stashbusting so I can add your beautiful yarn to my projects. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  19. Okay, so it is winter here and freezing! Well cold enough that holding a needle to sew dolls eyes is proving tricky!
For me time will be spent making dolls and hopefully learning how to spin!
